Chase started fourth in his heat race, but he didn’t stay there long.  After completing one lap, the caution flag was thrown for an incident.  Chase lined up on the inside of the second row for the Delaware double file restart.   Junghans worked the high groove of the race track in a thrilling side by side battle with NASCAR star Kenny Wallace for most of the race.  Chase had the advantage at the end of the 8 laps, earning him the second spot and a redraw position for the feature.   After starting 6^th, an ill handling car shuffled Chase towards the middle of the pack.  He retired at lap 17.
