Seventh-place finish in Wieland Winternationals opener at East Bay Raceway Park

Back with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) on Tuesday after Mother Nature washed out Monday’s opener, Chase Junghans visited East Bay Raceway Park (Tampa, Fla.) for the final Wieland Winternationals.

Drawing 75 Late Models, Junghans followed up the 10th-fastest time in his group with a fourth-to-second run in his heat race. Starting Tuesday’s $5,000-to-win opener in eighth, Chase muscled forward one spot in the 30-lap affair to register a seventh-place finish.

Chase’s night on Wednesday came to an early in his B-Main after driving up to third, missing a transfer spot by one car.

On Thursday, Junghans came one spot shy of at transfer position in his heat race and B-Main, ending his night.

A seventh-place consolation finish on Friday and a fourth-place finish in Saturday’s B-Main wrapped up the 48th annual Wieland Winternationals for Chase.
