Junghans visits Golden Isles Speedway for Super Bowl of Racing

Chase Junghans continued on the 2022 Georgia-Florida Speedweeks on Thursday by visiting Golden Isles Speedway (Brunswick, Ga.) for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) season opener. Drawing 47 cars for the Super Bowl of Racing, Chase missed a transfer spot by two positions in his heat with a fifth-place finish, relegating him into the B-Main. Transferring the Top 2 into the opening night feature, Junghans pulled off on the fifth circuit. (Heath Lawson photo)

On Friday, Chase grabbed the third-and-final transfer spot in his heat, which positioned him 18th on the starting grid for the feature. With $12,000 on the line, Junghans improved five spots in the 40-lapper to register a 13th-place finish.

The following night, Junghans’ fifth-place finish in his heat transferred him into the B-Main for another shot at the $15,000-to-win finale. Needing to place second or better, Chase recorded a fourth-place outing.
