Top-10 Finish in Prairie Dirt Classic Prelim at Fairbury Speedway
After a pair of strong showings with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the XR Super Series, Chase Junghans entered his Junghans Discount Liquor No. 18 Late Model into battle with the World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series on Friday at Fairbury Speedway (Fairbury, Ill.) for the 33rd running of the Prairie Dirt Classic weekend.
With a pair of prelims on Friday kicking off the two-day event, Junghans’ time trial effort positioned him on the fifth row for his preliminary feature. Chasing a $5,000 payday, Chase gained three spots to register a seventh-place finish.
Transferring into a consolation race on Saturday for another shot at the $50,000-to-win Prairie Dirt Classic, Junghans fell short of a transfer spot with a sixth-place outing. He earned a spot into the non-qualifier but pulled pitside on lap nine.
