Junghans sets new track record at Humboldt Speedway
Chase Junghans returned to his home state of Kansas over the weekend as the World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series rolled in for a two-night showdown.
Kicking things off on Friday at Humboldt Speedway, Junghans came out strong—shattering the track record in time trials with a 13.901-second lap and earning the Simpson Quick Time Award. He backed it up with a dominant heat race win and led the first 11 laps of the feature before getting turned around. He rebounded to finish 18th in the 40-lapper.
On Saturday, for the Ed Gressel Memorial at 81 Speedway, Junghans struggled in his heat, slipping to a seventh-place finish. He made a run in the B-Main in hopes of transferring to the $20,000-to-win feature but fell two spots short, finishing fifth.
