Junghans launches 2026 season with Wild West Shootout
The 2026 season got off to an early start for Manhattan, Kansas native Chase Junghans this past weekend as the Rio Grande Waste Services Wild West Shootout returned to its Arizona roots at Central Arizona Raceway.
Junghans got off to a slow start in his heat race on Saturday but rebounded with a fifth-to-third run in his B-Main. He advanced one position in the $25,000-to-win opener to finish 20th.
On Sunday, Junghans’ bid for the 40-lap feature came up short after an eighth-place finish in his B-Main.
