Junghan's trip to Mississippi Thunder for Big Deal 24 ends in B-Main

Setting his sights on the $100,001-to-win Big Deal 24, Chase Junghans returned to Modified action over the weekend for the inaugural event at Mississippi Thunder Speedway (Fountain City. Wis.).

With the massive 145-car field divided into groups for prelims on Wednesday through Friday, Chase backed up the 15th-fastest qualifying effort in his group on Wednesday with a heat race win on Thursday. Chasing prelim points and a victory in Thursday's preliminary feature, Junghans climbed one spot in the 30-lap affair to finish 14th.

Returning to the 3/8-mile oval on Saturday for one last shot at transferring into the $100,001-to-win Big Deal 24, Junghans' weekend came to an early end with a 13th-place B-Main finish.
